    Although the Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”) was signed into law almost 28 years ago, it continues to pose challenges for professional in Human Resources because of the endless variety of circumstances that arise with employees.

    More recently, compliance with the FMLA has become even more complex due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Congress’s passage of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (“FFCRA”) which created an expansion of FMLA rights available to employees dealing with the closure of schools or care facilities due to COVID 19.
