We are excited to present Joseph Hileman with Blue-U Defense for our March meeting.  His presentation is titled "Understanding Substance Abuse in the Workplace and Home". This presentation will offer tips on how to spot the tell-tell signs that indicate someone is using illegal drugs, or possibly abusing legal prescription medications.  Mr. Hileman will also give important safety instructions and tips for handling drug paraphernalia when it is discovered. 

Our May 21st, 2024 chapter meeting will be presented by Jennifer Bullock and John Cottee, Retirement Plan Specialists for Mutual of America.  Their presentation on the SECURE (Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement) 2.0 Act of 2022 includes incentives and features for businesses and plan participants which encourage retirement saving.

November's meeting, unlike the others this year, will be a joint meeting between the PBHRA and the Pine Belt Chapter of American Society and Safety Professionals (ASSP). 

Our September meeting will be an online presentation.  Please join us as we welcome Sommer Mason, Compensation Consulting Partner with Gallagher, who will speak to us on the topic of a Data Driven Approach to Workforce Planning and Total Rewards.  This webinar will be held on Tuesday, September 20th at 11:45 AM.

Although the Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”) was signed into law almost 28 years ago, it continues to pose challenges for professional in Human Resources because of the endless variety of circumstances that arise with employees.

More recently, compliance with the FMLA has become even more complex due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Congress’s passage of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (“FFCRA”) which created an expansion of FMLA rights available to employees dealing with the closure of schools or care facilities due to COVID 19.
